FREDRICK VARNEY
Fredrick was born about 1848 in Vermont. He enlisted in Company C, 9th Vermont Infantry, on 3 December 1863. He made Full Corporal on 1 February 1865 and Full Sargeant on 14 June 1865. He was mustered out of service on 1 December 1865. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic, Post #145 in Barnesville. In 1885 the family was living in Otter Tail County and in 1900, Humboldt. Fredrick started receiving his pension on 3 February 1891 and his widow, Esther, started receiving a widow's pension on 24 August 1903. Frederick died on 17 March 1902 in Moorhead.

CHRISTIAN VERAGUTH
Christian was born 30 June 1837. He enlisted in Company K 48th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment on 9 March 1865 and was mustered out on 24 March 1866. He was promoted to Corporal. In 1890 he was living in Barnesville. He started drawing his pension on 8 April 1892 in Minnesota. His wife, Pauline, started drawing a widow's pension on 22 August 1912 in Wisconsin. Christian died on 10 August 1912. He is buried in Fountain City Cemetery, Fountain City, Buffalo County, Wisconsin. Burial, Tombstone Picture.


DR. JOSEPH P. VICKERS
Joseph was born 8 March 1840. He joined the Union as a Lieutenant Assistant Surgeon on 30 August 1861 in Company S, 50th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment. He was discharged 18 July 1864. Joseph is listed on the 1883 Pensioners list as living in Barnesville and having chronic diarrhea. His disability pension started in October 1880 at $17.00/monthly. He is living in Barnesville in the 1890, 1900, and 1910 Census reports. Joseph died 30 March 1914 and is buried in the Barnesville City Cemetery. Burial, Tombstone Picture.
