Robert was born in Hartford, Trumbull County, Ohio on 7 March 1845 and died at Hunter, Cass County, North Dakota on 4 August 1929. He was a resident for sometime in Barnesville. At the age of 17, he enlisted as a soldier of the Civil War into Company F 10th Minnesota Infantry Regiment on 31 March 1863 as a Private. He was dischaged on 19 March 1865 with an honorable discharge. On October 14, 1868, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Fitzpatrick of Otisca, Waseca, Minnesota. In October 1885 he started receiving his pension and on 1 November 1929 Elizabeth started receiving a widow's pension.Burial, Biography, Tombstone Photo. |
