WILLIAM H. CAINE
William was born in Ohio on 5 July 1844. He enlisted into the Civil War on 6 August 1862 at St. Paul, Minnesota as a Private in Company A, 6th Minnesota Infantry and was discharged on 21 November 1864. By 1875 he is married to Medora Freeman and they are living in Ramsey County, Minnesota. In 1880 the family is living in Township 137, Range 45 and in 1885 they are in Humboldt. By 1890 they are in Oregon where William is listed in the 1890 Veterans Schedule. In 1900 the family is in Jackson County, Oregon. William started receiving his pension on 7 January 1882 in Minnesota and Medora started receiving a widow's pension on 29 October 1904 in Oregon. William died on 1 August 1904. WILLIAM M. CARR
William was born 22 November 1835 in England. He served in Company K, 102nd Illinois Infantry from 2 September 1862 until 6 June 1865 when he was mustered out in Washington, D. C. The Minnesota Grand Army of the Republic had him residing in Baker. In 1905 he was living in Elkton and in 1910 in Humboldt Township. He started receiving his pension on 17 July 1890 and his wife Lydia E. started receiving a widow's pension on 26 July 1910. William died on 30 June 1910. Burial, Tombstone Photos.

THEODORE J. CASSELL
Theodore was born in Indiana in 1843. He enlisted into the Civil War on 23 April 1861 at Salem, Indiana as a Private in Company G, 13th Indiana Infantry and mustered out on 14 December 1863. He then reenlisted the next day into Company B as a Veteran Volunteer and then on 2 December 1864 he was transferred to Company C. He was discharged on 5 September 1865 at Folly Island, South Carolina. Sometime after 1880 and before 1882 the family moved to Hawley where they were also at in the 1890 Veterans Schedule. Before 1895 the family relocated to Illinois. Theodore started receiving his pension on 15 April 1882 in Minnesota. Spouse Sarah started receiving a widow's pension on 21 February 1896 and son Byron started receiving it on 15 April 1901. Theodore died on 14 February 1896. Burial, Tombstone Photos.

WILLIAM CATLIN
William was born about 1841 in Candor, New York. He enlisted as a Private in Company F, New York 8th Heavy Artillery Regiment in Lockport, New York on 31 July 1862. He was discharged on 10 July 1865. In the 1890 Veterans Schedule he is living in Glyndon. He started receiving the Civil War Pension on 6 May 1890.

JAMES H. CHINNITH
James was born about 1842. He enlisted as a Private in Company G, 25th Iowa Infantry Regiment on 10 September 1862 and was mustered out on 6 June 1865 in Washington, D. C. He started receiving his pension on 8 April 1893. He is living in Moorhead in the 1890 Veterans Schedule. James died at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa. EDWARD J. CLARK
Edward was born about 1846. He enlisted 16 September 1864 as a Private in Company A, Minnesota 1st Heavy Artillery Regiment and was discharged in Minnesota on 20 June 1865. In the 1890 Federal Veterans Schedule he is living in Georgetown. He started receiving his pension on 6 July 1880 in Minnesota.

LLOYD HIRAM COLBY
Sometimes H. Lloyd Colby. He was born in New Hampshire in 1845. He enlisted into Company B 6th Wisconsin Infantry as a Private on 10 May 1861. He was mustered out on 24 May 1865. He appears to have been married twice; Annie and Celia. He started receiving his pension in August 1899 in Minnesota and his widow Annie started receiving the pension on 10 July 1922 in California. Before moving to California he lived in Barnesville and was a member of Post 145 (Barnesville) Grand Army of the Republic. He died in San Diego, San Diego County, California in 1922. GEORGE CONKLIN
George was born 26 November 1846. He enlisted from Jackson, Michigan as a Private in Company F 13th Michigan Infantry on 19 August 1864 and was discharged on 6 May 1865 at Jackson, Michigan. He started receiving his pension on 22 June 1889 in Minnesota and his wife, Mary, started receiving a widows pension on 11 July 1922 in Washington. He is living in Barnsville in the 1890 Veterans Schedule. George died on 19 June 1922 in Washington and is buried in Seattle, Washington. Burial, Tombstone Picture.

MAXIMILIAN K. COOK
Up until 1880 Max went by surname Koch. In 1880's and some of 1890's he used both Koch and Cook. Max was born in Germany 26 October 1844. He enlisted as a Private from Forest City, Minnesota into Company D, 2nd Minnesota Cavalry Regiment on 3 December 1863 and was mustered out on 2 December 1865. He started receiving his pension on 15 July 1889 in Minnesota and his wife, Hannah, started receiving a widow's pension on 4 September 1923 in Minnesota. He died in Clay County 17 July 1923. Max and family lived in Hawley since about 1880.

WALTER J. COOK
Walter was born 27 June 1827 in England. The 1910 Census has him living in Elmwood Township and it indicates he was a Civil War Veteran; however, this writer has been unable to pinpoint his regiment. Walter died on 13 July 1923 in Baker and is buried in the Sabin Elmwood Cemetery. There are pictures in conjunction with the biography of their son Walter, Jr. at History of Clay and Norman Counties - Page 88.

CHARLES F. CORNELL
Some records spell his surname as Cornelle. Charles was born in 1845. He enlisted from Cranesville, Amsterdam, New York for three years as a Private in Company D 77th New York Regiment on 12 October 1861 and was given a disability discharge on 5 January 1863 at White Oak Church, Virginia. He started receiving his pension on 16 December 1890. Charles died in 1928 and is buried in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Moorhead. Burial, Tombstone Picture.

CHARLES B. CREDIT
Charles was born in 1845. He enlisted from Lapeer County, Michigan as a Private in Company G 7th Michigan Infantry on 22 Aug 1861 and was discharged on 22 August 1864 in Petersburg, Virginia. He started receiving his pension on 18 February 1865 and is listed on the Clay County Pensioners List in 1883 as receiving $10.00 a month due to a lung injury. He is living in Hawley in the 1890 Veterans Schedule. His wife, Mary, started drawing a widow's pension on 5 April 1902. Charles died 12 March 1902 and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery in Detroit Lakes. Burial, Tombstone Picture.

CLEMONS "PETER" CZIZEK
Most of his records reference him as Peter. In the Civil War some of his records are under the alias of Peter Baker. He was born 23 July 1840 in Germany. He enlisted as a Private in Company G 97th Illinois Regiment 16 September 1862 and mustered out 29 July 1865 at Galveston, Texas. In the census reports of 1880, 1890, 1900, 1910, and 1920 he is living in Moorhead. He stared receiving his pension on 28 July 1890 and his wife, Harriet, started receiving a widow's pension on 19 July 1920. He died on 6 July 1920 in Moorhead and is buried in the Prairie Home Cemetery there. Burial, Tombstone Picture.
